I'm doing it my way

I have just finished creating a profile in LinkedIn. I had received "be in my network" requests from a couple people, but I was not a member. I have now accepted their requests, and sent out a couple to others. Hope to hear back soon.

It's much too early to tell how useful this tool will be. There are other ways to find people that seem as effective. We'll see.

Out of Order

It is week 3 and I just listened to a really great webinar on Revitalizing the Library Experience with George and Joan in California. They provided some useful information, and listening to this sort of session always seems to revitalize me, too.

I have taken part in both live and archived webinars before, as well as meetings conducted via Opal and Wimba. I must say that online meetings frustrate me because of the very things Brenda mentions--glitches, bad sound, can't figure out who's talking to who--and I have to do what she advises and be patient. I guess it is better than driving.

Week One: Blogging

I'm late, I'm late...Here I am on the very last day of the first week of 23 Things Kansas, finally getting my blog set up.

I am Maria Butler, community relations coordinator at the Lawrence Public Library. I'm out of time, so will have to tell yoiu more about myself later.

Here's hoping the next 22 weeks have more hours in them!
